Poderi Elia
Piemonte is one of the leading regions in Italy for top-quality wine making. A century- long tradition of small wineries keeps the name of Piemonte wines high all over theworld. Our company fits into this pattern of family-run traditional wineries.
Our great grandfather established the estate in 1890. The company is family run. Our vineyards and premises are located in Neive. We own all of the vineyards we get our grapes from. The estate broadens over an area of about 9 hectares. The Barbera d’Alba Superiore is produced from 45-year-old vineyards and both the Barbaresco Serracapelli and the Dolcetto d’Alba from 30-year-old vineyards.
Our portfolio is made up of the following wines:
Barbaresco Riserva D.O.C.G.
Barbaresco D.O.C.G. Serracapelli (cru)
Barbera d’Alba D.O.C. Superiore “Vi Veje”
Barbera d’Asti D.O.C.G. Old Vines
Dolcetto d’Alba D.O.C.
Langhe Nebbiolo D.O.C.
Piemonte Barbera D.O.C.
Tre Uve D.O.C.
Langhe Arneis D.O.C.
Moscato d’Asti D.O.C.G.
Each bottle is the outcome of a quality-oriented activity both in the vineyards (low yields to get excellent grapes) and in the winery (traditional methods: our wines are neither filtered nor clarified). The characteristics that you find in each glass mirror the features of the terroir the wine comes from.
Our wines have been appreciated by experts worldwide.
The well-known Italian wine magazine EUPOSIA has recently published a tasting report of Barbaresco 2000. Our Serracapelli ranked third and was praised as an excellent quality/ price wine. Our wines have appeared in some of the most prestigious and reliable guides to Italian wines in the last few years. For instance, Luca Maroni’s Guida ai Vini d’Italia 2005, Luigi Veronelli’s Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli 2005.
