Wine Enthusiast Magazine, The Enthusiast Top 100 – Dec 2010 – BARBARESCO SERRACAPELLI 2007, 43 out of 100
This outlier wine sparked much controversy at the Nebbiolo blind tastings because of the thickness of its extraction and the darkness of its appearance. Serracapelli is a beautifully rich wine that doesn’t necessarily highlight Barbaresco typicity. You’ll get opulent aromas of black cherry, spice, leather and moist tobacco. The mouthfeel is rich, round and velvety.

Alba Wine Exhibition – June 2009 – BARBARESCO 2006
Very high toned floral and game notes with sweet spiced plum fruit, little raspberry dusty, delicious start nicely ripe tannins, a touch tarry but with very fresh acidity and nice solid earthy fruity tones, really good length, nice slightly chunky tannins on the finish with good length and a plumy/ raspberry return 89-90.

Recommended Wines from Piedmont Wine Spectator – January 31st-February 28th, 2005 – Barbaresco Serracapelli 2000
Wonderful aromas of flowers and ripe fruit that turns to undertones of Indian spices. Full-bodied, with chewy yet round tannins and a long exotic fruit aftertaste. Hard not to drink the whole thing. Wonderful.
Wine Spectator – Sept. 30 2006 – Barbaresco Serracapelli 2003
Very rich and powerful, with flavors of ripe strawberry and light spices. Full-bodied, with round, soft tannins and a medium finish. Toned and fit, with lots of fruit. Well done from this small producer. Best after 2008. 710 cases made.
Guide to Italian Wines, June-July 2003, Published by Tom Hyland – ***** RATING -Barbaresco Serracapelli
Bright ruby red with herbal tea, dried cherry, persimmon and clove aromas. Generous mid-palate and a long finish with polished tannins and lively acidity. Elegant and graceful – lovely food wine. 7-10 years.
